About Vanessa

 

With more than 30 years of experience at the intersection of music and visual storytelling, Vanessa Jorge Perry is a music supervisor, consultant, and creative executive. She is Head of Music at Buddha Jones, one of the industry’s leading motion picture advertising companies, and the Founder and Creative Head of GrlSqdMx, a music supervision and consulting company.

Throughout her career, Vanessa has worked across film, trailers, promos, television, and video games, collaborating with leading trailer houses, production companies, directors, editors, and filmmakers. Her work spans music supervision, creative direction, music licensing, and consulting, bringing a unique understanding of how music can shape emotion, elevate storytelling, and connect audiences to a project.

Her recent work includes overseeing music for major motion picture trailers including The Odyssey, Project Hail Mary, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Devil Wears Prada 2, 28 Years Later, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and Ebenezer. She has also contributed to the creation of trailers and promos for projects including Disclosure Day, 28 Years Later, Las Azules, A Talent for Murder, and NASCAR 26.

Vanessa also works as a Music Supervisor for film. She served as Music Supervisor on Eva Longoria’s directorial debut, Flamin’ Hot, and was nominated for Best Music Supervision in a Film Under $25 Million at the Guild of Music Supervisors Awards.

Vanessa has been a proud member of the Guild of Music Supervisors for more than 12 years and has previously served on the GMS Board of Directors.
